Complete HarpWeek Explanation:
The April 2, 1864 issue of Harper’s Weekly included Nast’s “April Fool’s Day” cartoon.  A tiny detail on its center-right side shows “Mr. Fogey,” a stout gentleman in profile who might easily to be taken for Horace Greeley.  This individual is receiving from a mirthful delivery-boy a copy of a newspaper “Extra” edition, which declares whimsically, “Richmond is taken.”
